About Eilish

Eilish Rooney is an Emeritus Scholar at Ulster's Transitional Justice Institute and a trustee of Springhill Community House, Ballymurphy. She has published on intersectional lives in conflict and grassroots transitional justice. Current research involves constitutional conversations between women’s groups across Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Articles have appeared in Feminist Legal Studies, the International Journal of Law in Context, and the International Journal of Transitional Justice. With Fionnuala Ní Aoláin, she edited, The International Journal of Transitional Justice: Transitional Justice from the Margins: Intersections of Identities, Power and Human Rights (https://academic-oup-com.eu1.proxy.openathens.net/ijtj/article/12/1/1/4828188?searchresult=1). She represented TJI on the UN Women Peace and Humanitarian Fund. She was an invited intersectionality expert member of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia. Eilish contributed to the Field Day Anthology of Irish Writing, Vol. V: Irish Women's Writing & Traditions (https://www.jstor.org/stable/j.ctv1fkgbfc).

Current research, in partnership with University College Cork, involves all-island women’s constitutional conversation workshops: Critical Epistemologies Across Borders. She is the independent academic panellist on the West Belfast Partnership Board’s Aisling Education Bursary and is a trustee of Springhill Community House, Ballymurphy.
